We Won Again!

Coach Kline accepts the award from Ahmad Rashad and Anthony LaPanta on behalf of all involved in this win.

It was announced Wednesday, October 24, 2018, that Cretin-Derham Hall won the Minnesota Sports Moment of the Year Award at the Minnesota Sports Awards Gala, held at the U.S. Bank Stadium.

The award honors the 'Winning Moment in Minnesota Sports' during the past year. The CDH buzzer-beater dunk to win the Class 4A Boys Basketball State Championship in March 2018 was selected by public vote.

The Raiders were included among a list of very impressive moments in Minnesota sports, including:

• The Minneapolis Miracle - Stephon Diggs catches the game-winning touchdown pass to win the NFC Division.

• Mounds View Pitcher Skips Celebration to Hug Friend after Championship-Clinching Strikeout - An Internet viral video about sportsmanship and friendship after Mounds View's pitcher struck out his longtime friend and delayed celebrating with his team to console his friend.

• Jessie Diggins Wins Olympic Gold - The Afton native surges to earn Team USA's first Olympic media for U.S. women's cross country.

• Duluth Bulldogs Win Men's Hockey National Championship. Unseeded Bulldogs beat Notre Dame to win their second national championship.

We are honored to be nominated among the best moments of Minnesota sports. Thank you to everyone who voted for the team's tremendous championship win!

We congratulate our dedicated coaching staff, including Varsity Head Coach Jerry Kline, Tony Yazbeck, Mark Gautschi, Joe Hutchins, and Amy Bellus.

We congratulate the teammates who never quit, and who played with heart and determination until that final second — the 2017-18 Championship Roster: Sy Chatman, Jaeden King, Charlie Dennis, Lucas Ammons, Ryan Larson, Jaylen Newton, Caleb Davis, Zion Guerra, Ben Gallaher, Amari Carter, Enoch Griffin, Quintin Fitzgerald, Jacob Prince, Peter Udoibok, Josiah Remus-Ford, Tristan Lee, Daniel Oturu, Danny McGraw.
