The Cretin-Derham Hall Competition Dance team is back at it for another season! The Raiders hosted a conference meet in the Joe Mauer Field House last week and put on a show. The meet was their 3rd of the 2024 season and featured both the Varsity and JV kick teams. The JV team placed 2nd and Varsity placed 4th. CDH is the only AA team in the conference.

Angela Keske made some remarks about the staff and parent support for the team: “What struck me about the dancers that night was how much they love their fans. Several faculty and staff members attended the meet and it made the night even more meaningful. As they stretched and prepared to take the floor, the girls talked for at least 20 minutes about their CDH teachers and how thankful they are to be taught by such amazing and dedicated people.”

When asked what she was most excited for this season, Keske said, “The CDHDT is like a second family. The rigorous practice & performance schedule shows a dedication and skill level that requires the girls to know each other and connect deeply. I am excited to watch them grow as dancers but also as people committed to their community and other dancers. We are there for each other no matter what challenges life brings.”

Keske carries a lot of pride in her squad, saying “CDHDT is growing a culture that we are proud to represent. Our dance team is small but fierce. Every single dancer is an example of what it means to be an exceptional student and dedicated athlete. I am so proud of them.”

On December 16, the CDHDT competed in the Suburban East Conference Championships at Irondale High School and placed 3rd overall in both jazz and kick.

The Raiders have four meets left this season, the next of which is Varsity Jazz and Kick competition at Roseville. Cretin-Derham Hall looks to shine again in front of their supporters.
