Anna Fobbe '15 Headlines Academic All-America® Soccer Teams

AUSTIN, Texas – Senior goalkeeper Anna Fobbe of Bemidji State University headlines the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Women's Soccer teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
The Division II Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.
 
Fobbe has been selected as the recipient of the Google Cloud Academic All-America® of the Year award for Division II women's soccer.
 
An exercise science-pre-physical therapy major with a 4.00 GPA, Fobbe comes off a record-breaking season for Bemidji State. She led the Beavers to an 18-1-2 record and a berth in the NCAA Central Regional Championship. She was in goal for all 21 matches, as the team set a school record for wins while recording the school’s first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season title and first NCAA Tournament victory.
 
A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Fobbe was named the 2018 NSIC Goalkeeper of the Year and was a first team All-NSIC selection. In addition, she was named to the D2CCA All-Central Region Team. She finished with an 18-1-2 record with a 0.53 goals-against average, the latter figure ranking 16th in Division II. She led the NSIC with 11 shutouts. She set single-season school records for wins, shutouts, and goals against average. Academically, she was a three-time Academic All-NSIC selection and 2017 NSIC Elite 18 Award Recipient. She finished with a career record of 39-11-3, a school record for wins, and her 0.67 GAA is also a school record. She ranks third in career save percentage (.866).
