Some wonderful softball games on May 19, 2018, in the Mankato East Invitational tournament! Cretin-Derham Hall  faced #1 ranked Prior Lake (15-1-0) and won 5-1. Sophomore pitcher Stella Dolan pitched a complete game with 7 strikeouts, 3 hits (all unearned) and gave up one unearned run. She had a shutout going into the 6th inning. Seniors Autam Mendez and Livia Gans hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning. Senior Mady Morrison also had a home run.

CDH then lost to the defending state champions Farmington 11-6. Senior Kennedy Spiering hit a home run in the seventh inning.

They next played Winona Cotter. CDH head coach Patrick Bowlin attended Cotter, as well as coached their softball team, prior to taking the job at CDH. The Raiders won 6-3 and placed third place. Mady Morrison and Stella Dolan (sophomore) both made the all-tournament team.

The team faces Stillwater for the first round of sections on Tuesday, May 22.
