Frannie Hottinger of Inver Grove Heights  scored her 1,000th point as Cretin-Derham Hall junior on Feb. 28, when the Raiders defeated the North St. Paul Polars by a score of 93 to 33 in the first round of Section 4AAAA play.  Hottinger needed seven points to reach 1,000 and secured that plus some by scoring 25 points in the game.  Hottinger joins seniors Lizzie Edinger and Autam Mendez as one of three Raiders girl basketball players reaching this milestone in the 2017-18 season and only a handful of others that have done this in Cretin-Derham Hall history. Hottinger started playing varsity basketball for Cretin-Derham Hall as a freshman and plays off-season for the North Tartan Nike Elite AAU team, traveling around the country playing in tournaments such as Boo Williams in Virginia and the Nike National in Chicago. Hottinger has been playing organized basketball since she was in fourth-grade, playing for Eagan traveling teams and her grade school, Faithful Shepherd, also in Eagan. The Raiders took on the Woodbury Royals for the Section championship on March 8 after the Review’s press time.
