Five Raider student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent and two signed collegiate commitments to their respective colleges for the 2018-19 school year.

We asked each one to reflect on their experiences that led them to the exciting commitment to play sports at the collegiate level.

Justyna Butler'18, North Dakota State College of Science (Basketball)
"My experience at CDH has been bittersweet. It has all gone by so fast but has been a tough journey full of laughs, stress, hard work, and support from faculty that will hold a place in my heart. Next fall I'm looking forward to playing basketball at North Dakota State College of Science and continuing my journey of laughter, hark work and dedication. I love my coaches and teammates, and wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for the love and support of my family, friends, teammates, and coaches along the way."

Anna Klein'18, Sacred Heart University (Hockey)
"My time at CDH has been an experience that I will never forget. I have met so many new people who have opened my mind to all kinds of new experiences and views. The sense of community at CDH is like none other and I will miss being able to support all the different activities here. I’m greatly looking forward to meeting new people in college during the fall and starting a completely new experience for myself in a brand new environment."

Daniel Oturu'18, University of Minnesota (Basketball)
"My time as a CDH student-athlete has been a journey to remember. I'm thankful that over the four years I've been here that I have had so many people willing to help me become who I am today. It's been truly a blessing in my life and I'm forever grateful. Next year I look forward to starting a new legacy at the University of Minnesota and I'm ready to make my state proud!"

Alexis Parker'18, Kent State University (Lacrosse)
"Before coming to CDH, I didn’t know a single thing about lacrosse. I am forever grateful for the help of my family, my teammates and all the coaches that taught me the sport. I would not be where I am now without their support on and off the field these past four years. I am over the moon to be one of the inaugural team members at Kent State University, and I can’t wait for what is next!"

Kennedy Spiering'18, Sacred Heart University (Hockey)
"As I look back on my years of CDH hockey, my fondest memories are from my freshmen year. Being one out of the two freshmen on the team, it was exciting to be a part of a great group of girls that became much more than teammates. Coach Pohl always had faith in me, pushed me to play to the best of my abilities, and gave me the confidence I needed to move to the next level. As I finish up my last season at CDH, I look forward to being able to continue to play the sport that has been a part of my life since skating on a rink in my backyard at 2 years old. I am thankful for this opportunity and thrilled to see what the next four years bring at Sacred Heart University."

Jack Van Meter'18, Colgate University (Swimming)
"My experience in being a part of athletics at CDH has been extremely impactful. I’m incredibly thankful for all of my coaches and fellow athletes that have helped shape me into the person I am today. I am looking forward to continuing my education and swimming career next fall at Colgate University."

Kate Van Meter'18, Colgate University (Swimming)
"Since my freshman year at CDH, one of the most important things we are taught is to strive for excellence. This played a huge factor in knowing that Colgate was the right place for me. In school and in the pool, I know that Colgate will push me to be the best I can be every day and I'm so excited to start next fall!"
