Junior Olympic volleyball gives students and future CDH students opportunities to improve their skills through out-of-season volleyball clubs. Several students participate in different clubs around the Twin Cities area starting in November and can play until July 4th. Many CDH students and future CDH students also have the opportunity to play JO volleyball with our out-of-season club, Northern Heat-CDH. Northern Heat-CDH allows students to be multi-sport athletes at a much lower price than clubs around the area and also flexible with practices close to home.  Our mission is to create a sense of competition, dedication, perseverance, and plain hard work learned from the game of volleyball that can be transferred to the home, the classroom, and the community.

Northern Heat-CDH is a great opportunity for the CDH community to be together and grow in CDH’s mission and core values.  Ninety-eight of our high school program (9-11 grade) consists of CDH players, while 85% of our youth program (6-8 grade) consists of future Raiders.

Northern Heat-CDH also trains CDH's volleyball players during the summer through camps, open gyms, and Raiders Edge (CDH workout program). Northern Heat-CDH encourages students to be multi-sport athletes with priority given to school activities.  As well as, providing opportunities for seniors and recent graduates of Cretin-Derham Hall to further their volleyball careers as coaches in the program. Northern Heat-CDH is based out of Cretin-Derham Hall.
