Additional Golden Footballs Presented

Cretin-Derham Hall was awarded two additional golden footballs from Ryan Harris '03 and Derek Engler '92.

Cretin-Derham Hall was awarded two additional golden footballs. A graduate, who participated in a NFL Super Bowl, presents the golden football to his respective school.

Ryan Harris '03 won the Super Bowl in 2016 as an offensive tackle for the Denver Broncos. In his ninth season, Harris will play offensive tackle for the Pittsburg Steelers. Harris graduated in 2003 from Cretin-Derham Hall and attended the University of Notre Dame on a football scholarship. In 2008, Harris graduated from Notre Dame with degrees in Economics and Political Science.

Derek Engler '92 participated in the Super Bowl XXXV for the New York Giants. Engler played four seasons with the Giants 1997 - 2001 as a center. Engler graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall in 1992 and then attended University of Wisconsin - Madison on a football scholarship. In 1997, Engler graduated from UW- Madison with a BA in Sociology and Criminal Justice. Currently, Engler lives and works in Madison, WI in wealth management. Derek is the son of former Cretin-Derham Hall President Richard Engler.

Matt Birk presented the first golden football to CDH in a school assembly in the fall of 2015. The National Football League is celebrating the 50th Super Bowl with the NFL High School Honor Roll, honoring players and coaches of previous Super Bowl games, along with their high school community, with a Golden Football to recognize their impact both on and off the field.

Matt Birk, Super Bowl Champ with the Baltimore Ravens, former Minnesota Viking and current NFL Director of Football Development, graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall in 1994. Birk attended and played football at Harvard graduating in 1998 with a degree in Economics. He played in the NFL from 1998-2012, was a two-time All-Pro, six-time Pro Bowl selection, and one-time Super Bowl champion.
