The CDH Raiders Boys Golf team has had a very successful start to the 2024 season. Led by third year head coach Bob Kinne ‘11, the Raiders have finished first or second in every single tournament they have played in, besides one mishap early in the season.

The Raiders are currently ranked 2nd in MNGolf.org’s High School Rankings, trailing only Spring Lake Park at number 1. Coach Bob Kinne ‘11 said “I think our team's consistency has been what has stood out the most so far this season with all of our players top to bottom shooting consistent scores, whether they play on JV or Varsity.”

Consistency is certainly something that stands out when you look at how CDH has performed in these tournaments so far. One thing about this Raider team is that they run deep. All six people in their lineup are capable of taking it under par, which means they can select scores from anybody on the team, instead of being limited to just the top four players.

Coach Bob Kinne ‘11 said “The whole team has had the best season so far. Our kids have so much fun playing and competing with each other on a daily basis and we love to see them succeed and grow in their games.” Although the team’s depth helps propel them in many tournaments, they can always rely on their big three in Miles Bollinger ‘24, Joe Honsa ‘25, and Sam Udovich ‘25. Sam, Joe, and Miles have been leading the pack so far this year, with each of them winning tournaments this season with the individual best scores. MNGolf.org currently has Joe Honsa ‘25 as the #2 player in the state, followed by his teammate Sam Udovich ‘25 at #3, as well as Miles Bollinger ‘24 at #19.

Coach Kinne described this year's team as “Fun, Competitive, and Skilled.” Part of the source to all this comes from the leadership of the two seniors on the team: Miles Bollinger ‘24, and Jimmy Dunham ‘24. Both of these players have had a positive influence on this Raider team by providing great leadership skills, attitudes, and willingness to include everybody as part of the team. Kinne said this group of seniors “make it fun to be a part of the CDH Golf program.” The Raiders Boys Golf team will be getting ready for an upcoming event up in Detroit Lakes, where they will compete against some of the top teams across the state, preparing them for sections and hopefully later on in the State Tournament.
