The Cretin-Derham Hall girls basketball team is firing on all cylinders. The Raiders have started the season with a 6-5 record that featured a 5 game win streak from December 5-15. CDH is third in the Suburban East Conference, scoring 56.4 points per game.

The Raiders are coached by Tara Seifert who is in her first year at CDH. Seifert previously played at Iowa State and coached the Chaska Hawks for 16 seasons. She led the Hawks to a state championship title in 2021.

When asked about what she is most looking forward to, Seifert said “In my first season at CDH, I am excited to see how much this team improves throughout the season. We have a team with a great mixture of experience and talent.”

She also pointed out that the Raider community should see big things from the team, saying “CDH students and parents can expect to see a team that plays with a lot of effort and energy. We hope to play an up-tempo style of basketball and defend well regardless of who we play.”

The Raiders have a balanced roster this season, featuring 4 seniors, 3 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 2 freshmen. Seifert talked about how this will benefit the group, saying “The team's biggest strength is we have a lot of returning players that are motivated to have a successful season.”

Seifert is proud to be a part of the CDH community. “I am excited to be coaching at CDH as it's such a tremendous school with a strong history of athletic and academic excellence. I hope to help build  the CDH Girls Basketball Program to compete at a high level for many years to come!”

The Raiders’ next home game will be against White Bear Lake this Friday (1/12/2024) in the Joe Mauer Field House.
