Over 30 members of the CDH Boys and Girls Basketball programs were invited to spend the morning of December 2 at Mauer GMC in Inver Grove Heights assembling bicycles to be donated to Toys for Tots Twin Cities.

“Anytime the Mauer Auto Group is looking for volunteers, the Cretin-Derham Hall community seems to always step up.” said Tony Leseman ’01, Personnel Specialist at the Mauer Auto Group. “Our annual Bike Build, which consists of building and donating 500 bikes to Toys for Tots, was no different. We had both of the CDH Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball programs here to volunteer their time and give back during the holiday season. They were nothing short of being respectful, hardworking, and incredibly helpful.”

“As captains of the boys and girls basketball programs, it was an honor to lead our programs for such a great cause during the holiday season. We could not be more proud of our teams and the dedication they showed in this volunteer effort.” said Lauren Bengtson ’24, Miles Bollinger ’24, Lily Hahs ’24 and Anthony Knight ’24.

The event was a tremendous success and Leseman was impressed by the overall efficiency of the operation. “We built 500 bikes in 3 hours! Without a doubt, our bike build would not have been as successful without the CDH Boys and Girls Basketball programs. Because of their efforts as well as many others, 500 kids will get to have a very special holiday season. Thank you CDH Boys and Girls Basketball!”
