The Cretin-Derham Hall girls hockey team has started the season with a grueling schedule, but there’s still a lot of season left to look forward to as CDH looks to make another conference and section run. The Raiders are currently sitting at 2-4 on the season.

The Raiders started their season off with a 3-1 win against conference leading Woodbury at Highland Ice Arena. After a pair of one goal losses, the Raiders responded with a 4-1 win against Metro-South Phoenix at home.

The slow start should not be concerning for CDH. With a very young nucleus, playing a tough schedule will only prepare them for a sectional tournament run and potentially their first state tournament berth since 2008. Last season the Raiders lost in OT to Rosemount in the section championship. This year Rosemount and Lakeville North will be prime competition in the section.

Junior forward Abby Broz ‘25, who has committed to Division 1 Franklin Pierce, is currently leading the team in goals with 4 thus far. Hope Hadac ‘25, Stella Hadac ‘25, and Channing Haycraft ‘27 all are currently tied with a team leading 3 assists.

You can catch The Raider Girls hockey team back in action this Saturday December 2 at home when they host perennial power The Blake School. The puck will drop at 2 pm from Highland Arena.
