The Raiders girls swim and dive team are looking to make a splash in state this year. Coach Thomas told us earlier this year “Students and parents can expect to see an outstanding postseason full of fast times and lifelong memories.” That’s exactly what we’ve gotten to see so far this postseason with 9 different swimmers going to state. Here is who is competing and the events that they are in:
*. 50 M Freestyle: Izzy Macheel ‘24, Sara Linder ‘25, Tessa Lentsch ‘24.
* Medley Relay: Molly Magnuson ‘24, Olivia Reeder '24, Sara Linder ‘25, Maeve Johnston ‘25.
*. 100 M Freestyle: Izzy Macheel ‘24 and Sara Linder ‘25.
*. 200 M Freestyle Relay: Sara Linder ‘25, Lillian Morre ‘24, Tessa Lentsch ‘24, Izzy Macheel ‘24.
* 100 M Backstroke: Maeve Johnston ‘25, Molly Magnuson ‘24, Josie Thomas ‘24.
*. 400 M Freestyle: Izzy Macheel ‘24, Molly Magnuson ‘24, Tessa Lentsch ‘24, Lillian Moore ‘24.
On the diving side of things, the Raiders have the star diver Emma Donnelly ‘25. Emma has been part of the team for 4 years now. She told us she thinks the team has made it so far “Because of the connection between the coaches and athletes, as well as our team bond. Everyone on the team is so connected and it feels like a family.”
Come support the Raiders on November 16 and 17 as they participate in the MSHSL State Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
