The CDH Cross Country team has had some very talented runners this season. Although the team has only 9 boys and 5 girls, their performance has been very strong throughout the season so far. Coach Babcock, entering his 26th season with the team, said “Many of our runners are new to the sport. Some are new to running. As a whole team they are very consistent.”

Having such a small team means they don’t always fill out a complete roster for every race at every meet, which can take the team aspect away. However, Babcock said “The individuals in each race continue to push themselves and encourage their teammates.” He has seen tremendous growth from his runners all year.

With young runners like Abby Chestovich ‘26, and Fox Galioto ‘26, there seems to be a lot to look forward to for the future of CDH cross country. Abby Chestovich ‘26 recently placed 7th in the teams last meet. As for Galioto, coach Babcock said he’s “Moved up quite a bit from last year and continues to press faster.” The team is also led by senior captains Bella Brondum ‘24 and Liam McLay ‘24

Sections start on Wednesday morning, October 25 at the Les Bolstad Golf Course at The University Of Minnesota. Coach Babcock is planning to advance some individuals to the State Meet again this year. Chestovich has been to the State Meet twice in her 2 years of running CDH Cross Country. There is a lot to look forward to for the CDH Cross Country program.
