By Grant Bowman '24, Bleacher Reporter, 10/06/23, 2:00PM CDT

The Cretin-Derham Hall Girls Swim and Dive team is back for their fourth season under Head Coach Lisa Thomas. Raider culture is a vital part of the program. According to Thomas, “I am most excited seeing this amazing group of athletes work together to carry on a culture of respect and dedication to not only their sport but the traditions of CDH Swimming and Diving.”

When asked what the biggest strengths of this Raider team are, Coach Thomas said “I think the biggest strengths this team has are friendship and a sense of family. Fast swims happen more often when this team feels connected and part of something greater than their own race.”

The CDH community should look forward to an entertaining end of the season from the Raider swim team, with Coach Thomas stating, “students and parents can expect to see an outstanding postseason full of fast times and lifelong memories. This group of athletes work hard together and push each other to achieve greatness.”

The team features a mix of grades, including 18 seniors. The graduating class is setting up culture for future Raider swimmers. Coach Thomas is proud to be a part of the CDH Athletics family saying, “I realize more and more each day the value of traditions instilled in them which stem from CDH Athletics, school traditions and past coaches who have passed them down over the years.”

The Raiders’ next meet is October 11. It is a Conference meet hosted at Oltman Middle School. The Raiders and Coach Thomas will look to make a statement and continue their success.
