The Girls Lacrosse team currently stands at 5-2 and has been lighting up the scoreboard this season. The team has scored at least 15 goals in all of their wins and has kept their opponents in single digits in 6 of their 7 games.

This season has been a great start for Head Coach Jeff Rosga ’89  who was hired as the head coach of the program this past October. Rosga returns to CDH after a successful past few seasons as head coach of Two Rivers and Gentry Academy.

The team is a balanced mix of experience and youth as the team includes 11 seniors on the roster while also carrying a strong foundation of star players for the future. This includes midfielder Sofia Watts ’24, Jordin Rosga ’28, and Anna Stangler ’23 who have each contributed to over 20 points this season. Watts leads the team in goals, averaging nearly 5 goals a game, and Rosga leads the team in assists, contributing to nearly 6 points per game through goals and assists.

Defensively the team has also stood strong, allowing less than 8 goals per game on average. This includes the play from senior goaltender Margarita Lucio ’23, who has saved nearly 40 shots from going into the net this season.

The team has had great leadership from their outstanding coaching staff in Rosga, Ali Minelli-Fenstermacher, Paulina Son, Grace Altier ’18, Dan Gregus and special assistant to the Head Coach Jeffrey Rosga. In addition to the coaching staff, the three Raider captains Stangler, Josie Nei ’23 and Maggie Plante ’23 have shown impressive leadership for the up and coming Raiders.

The team has won 4 of its last 5 games including the most recent victory, a standout performance against Roseville on the road where the team won 19-4. Overall the team has outscored their opponents 101 to 52 this season, scoring an average of over 14 goals per game. The team’s next matchup will be at home against Irondale on Friday, May 5. The team has six more games this season as they look to reach the top of the standings in the Suburban East Conference.
