The Alpine Ski Team has been sliding down slopes this Winter. The team features a lineup of returning skiers in addition to many new faces to the team this season. Led by a strong coaching staff that includes Head Coach Carrie Freitag and Assistant Coaches Wendy Loudas and Don Freitag, the team has been actively preparing for a variety of hills including Afton Alps in Hastings and Wild Mountain in Taylors Falls.

Alpine Ski is a co-ed sport and has received new team members from all grade levels this year.  Danny Weber ’23 said the sport “combines both the individual and team elements” to bring out the best of each athlete and the team. Each skier's performance can elevate their personal records while also helping the whole team succeed in a meet. The team’s season started with dryland training before training on the snow early last December and is now in full force this January. Their first meet was yesterday at Wild Mountain and the team has four more meets this month with the next two meets located at Afton Alps before traveling to Wild Mountain later this month.

Good luck to the Alpine Ski team this season.
