The annual Activities Fair was held in the Griep Family Gymnasium on September 21. Hundreds of students roamed through the information booths and were able to gather information about the clubs and organizations that interested them.

At CDH, the level of participation in co-curriculars is distinctively high with 95% of students involved in one or more sports or activities. CDH features a wide variety of co-curricular activities, with choices for every single person.

Clubs and activities fall into several main categories: academic competitions such as Mock Trial, creative outlets such as Art Club or Yearbook, service opportunities such as Highland Friendship Club, non-varsity athletic fun such as Intramural basketball, and leadership opportunities such as Link Crew and Student Council. With over 40 clubs and activities to choose from, students can explore their passions and talents while making new friends. More information can be found at c-dh.org/activities.

“It was great to see the Activities Fair so well attended.” said Tony Yazbeck, CDH Activities Director.  “There are endless choices of clubs for any student to join. No matter what you’re interested in, CDH has a place for you. Put yourself out there and have some fun!”

If students have an idea about a club that is not currently offered, Mr. Yazbeck will work with them to explore the possibility of offering it and assist in the official launching of the new activity. There are usually new ideas every year. For instance, the Competitive Fishing Team, a new option offered last year, is the result of a student’s diligence in establishing a team that began when he was a 9th grader.
