The Girls Swim & Dive team is looking to further its development after a very successful past few years. There are hopes yet again for a State appearance, and the coaches have delivered on creating an environment that allows the athletes to persevere through challenges and push themselves to succeed while keeping an energetic atmosphere.

The coaching staff features Head Coach Lisa Thomas, Diving Coach Katie Magnuson ’88, Assistant Coaches Katie Conners, Erin Goodson ‘14, David Reeder, and Katie Reeder ‘89. The coaches are uplifting, bringing a positive attitude to practice which encourages the swimmers to keep going. “They have created and grown an atmosphere of family”, a swimmer described the coaches.  They are able to help adhere to both a swimmer’s individual goals while also pushing the entire team to succeed. They have the swimmers’ backs and will support the swimmers both on and off the deck.

This season has been a breath of fresh air, in a return contrasting from the past few seasons affected by COVID.  The team has bonded as a family, making strong friendships and creating memories they will cherish for the rest of their lives. Teammates are always cheering for their fellow Swimmer at the end of their lane. Even the carpools from meets and practices have created memorable moments for the team, strengthening their closeness. The early mornings and late nights of practice are paying off and the team is maintaining momentum. The team recently achieved 2nd place, taking home an impressive trophy from the Laker Invite. The team will strive to finish the season building upon their success.

The team’s remaining Meets at home are all on Thursdays, including their next meet on Thursday, October 6th vs. East Ridge at 6 PM at St. Catherine’s. Good luck to the Raiders in their upcoming meets!
