Carolyn Osdoba is the new head softball coach at Cretin-Derham Hall, it was announced on Friday.

Osdoba, who had previously been an assistant with the program, also played at the University of St.Thomas and Mankato East respectively.

"I am excited for the future of our softball program," CDH Athletics Director Matt Funk said in a statement. "Carolyn has been part of our community both as a teacher and coach, and she is the right person for the job.  Her dedication to CDH, meticulous work ethic and attention to detail will serve her well as she makes the transition to head coach."

Osdoba replaces Aaron Vail, who departed  the program for the head coaching position at North Central University in Minneapolis last month.

"I am thankful to Cretin Derham Hall for this opportunity and am excited for the future of the program. I am honored to be a Raider, and I look forward to continue working with our amazing student-athletes." said Osdoba

Osdoba also announced that coaches Nikki Conway ’02, Teisha Devine and Dennis Czech ’79 will return to the program. Both Conway and Devine were all-americans at the University of St. Thomas and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota respectively. All our returning coaches have either worked or played for legendary coach John Tschida ’87.
