On Thursday, June 16, Cretin-Derham Hall inducted its Classes of 2020 and 2022 into the new Cretin -Derham Hall Athletic Hall of Fame. Eight teams, one coach and seven individual athletes were inducted. The physical location of the Athletic Hall of Fame is in the hallway outside the Griep Family Gymnasium.
Joining the Hall of Fame this year were: Natalie Roedler Bollinger '98, Cathy Childs Clyde '85, Lauren Gibbemeyer '07, Jack Hannahan '98, Ryan Harris '03, Ray Hitchcock - Honorary Raider Award, Corbin Lacina '89, Courtney Norman '98, Mike Scanlan '70, 1957, 1958, 1959, and 1960 Cretin Football Teams, 1980-81 Derham Hall Gymnastics Team, 1990-91 & 1992-93 Raider Boys Basketball Teams, 1991 Raider Girls Softball Team
The mission of the HOF is to honor and recognize the significant contributions of athletes, teams, coaches and individuals, who through their teamwork, dedication, leadership and sportsmanship, have created a lasting legacy for CDH Athletics. The physical display honors the contributions and legacy of past student athletes and coaches from Cretin High School, Derham Hall and Cretin-Derham Hall.
A committee was formed to draw up the bylaws of the Cretin-Derham Hall Athletic Hall of Fame and to create a process to solicit/vet nominations and elect each induction class. Hundreds of nominations were received over the past two years. According to committee member and Vice President of Advancement, Rob Bollinger, “Cretin-Derham Hall’s Athletic Hall of Fame was spearheaded by our former athletic director, Phil Archer ’99. After 5 years as athletic director and a former alum, Archer has brought great insight to the founding principles of the Athletic Hall of Fame. It has been an exciting opportunity to launch this program with him as we honor the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future of Cretin-Derham Hall athletics.”
