Erin Horn has been named as the new head coach for the Girls Volleyball program.

Horn has a lifelong love for volleyball and comes to CDH after a standout career at the University of Minnesota and several years of club volleyball coaching with Vital Volleyball.

Coach Horn was a four-year letter winner for the Gophers and helped lead her team to a Big Ten Championship and Sweet Sixteen appearance as a sophomore (2002), the Final Four as a junior (2003), and the National Championship Match as a senior (2004), as the runner-up to Stanford.

As a senior Horn was named to the All Big 10 Team, NCAA All tournament team, and was an Honorable mention All-American.

“One of the things I’m most excited about with regard to getting into the gym at CDH is working with the players and helping them grow and develop both as athletes and as young women. I understand that these women will not always be volleyball players, but they will always be people with thoughts, ideas, emotions, and relationships. Cultivation and development of the entire person and building a cohesive team are at the top of my priority list. If we can do this successfully, the rest of the pieces will fall into place”. Horn said.

Horn holds Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies, Bachelor of Science in Genetics, Cell Biology and Development and a Masters in Nursing all from the University of Minnesota.

Currently Coach Horn works as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul.

Coach Horn resides in Highland Park with her husband Aaron and their three children Charley (8), Xander (6), and Desmond (4), all of which attend Highland Catholic School in St. Paul.
