Aaron Vail is joining Cretin-Derham Hall as the new Head Softball coach.

Vail has been coaching softball since 2003. His resume includes time at Furman University, Oregon State University, Presbyterian College, Utah Valley University and Hamline University in the college ranks, as well as in the high school ranks with Burnsville and North St. Paul high schools. Vail has a passion for the game at all levels.

"Having the opportunity to lead Cretin-Derham Hall after leaving the college game, back in my hometown and with my family alongside of me is an abundant blessing. I look forward to the opportunity of guiding the Raiders back to Mankato this year to hoist our first softball state championship banner and 33rd overall as a high school into the rafters of the Joe Mauer Fieldhouse!" he said.

Vail has coached club teams for many years where his teams qualified for both the PGF Nationals and the ASA Gold National Championships in 2012 and 2013. Vail also has a decorated career professionally as a player in fastpitch softball both nationally and internationally.

"His playing and coaching experience, as well as his connections in the softball community, will be an invaluable asset to CDH," said Athletic Director Phil Archer '99

Good luck and welcome to CDH Coach Vail!
