The Girls Lacrosse team is currently sitting in second place in the Suburban East Conference after an impressive 8-5 victory over White Bear Lake to improve their overall record to 7-4.

The SEC has been known for being a top lacrosse conference as evident by past state tournament appearances which include the Raiders as one of three SEC members to qualify for the state tournament in 2018.

“Our team consists of many multi sport athletes who excel in each sport they play! More than ten of the 21 players play a second or third sport at the varsity level,” said Head Coach Sheala Osborne ’15

With the regular season coming to a close CDH is preparing to make a run in the sectional playoffs.

“This year Section 3 is extremely competitive. Currently two teams in our section, Gentry & Rosemount, are ranked as top 10 teams in the state,” Osborne said. “We had the opportunity to compete against Gentry/Sibley early on in the season but fell 7-17.”

The Raiders are excited for the challenge going into sections and have been working extremely hard to prepare. Their focus is to take every game one day at time.

“We have an incredibly strong defense, who are the backbone of our team. They will play a key role in our success in the section tournament,” Osborne said.

Leading the defense are Erin Anfang ’21, Marin Miroslavich ’24, Caitlin Mulchay ’22 and Ari Evans ’22.  Evans leads the team defense with speed & hustle on the field, and is currently second on the team with 31 ground balls. Anfang is a key defensive player as well and is the defender attackers fear & have to work extremely hard to beat  “Goaltending has been strong as well with Ashlyn Marxhausen ’23 who leads the team with a .420% save percentage.

Leadership has been a key for CDH, and captains Anfang & Annika Anderson ’21, Luci Selander ’22 & Evans are pushing their teammates to work hard and do their best.

Selander is currently ranked the 5th top goal scorer in the state. 45 goals & 9 assists, 41 ground balls & 34 draw controls.

Anna Stangler ’23 & Jane Stangler ’25 have been great additions to the team. This sister duo are constantly finding each-other to put goals in the back of the net! Anna is currently the second leading scorer on the team with 14 goals & 4 assists and Jane has 6 goals & 10 assists.

Good luck to the Raiders in the Section 3 playoffs.
