Updates to COVID-19 Precautions for Spring Sports

Last week, the Minnesota Department of Health rolled back restrictions pertaining to outdoor gatherings and sport events. These changes will affect spring sports at CDH. Going forward, here is what you need to know when attending a sporting event.

Requirements

  • Face coverings are required for spectators in outdoor venues with 500 or more spectators in attendance.
  • Athletes are no longer required to wear face coverings during competition.

Recommendations

  • Face coverings are recommended for participants in outdoor organized sports activities when social distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Social distancing of 6 feet should still try to be maintained when possible.
  • Participants should consider testing weekly if not masking during practice or play.
  • Face coverings are recommended for spectators in outdoor venues with less than 500 spectators in attendance.

These changes are encouraging but we still caution everyone who is feeling symptomatic or has been potentially exposed to not attend any events and get tested ASAP.
