The Boys Swim & Dive team is winding down the regular season with only two dual meets remaining. First, the Raiders travel to Hastings to take on the Raiders on Tuesday, February 4, at 6 pm. These two teams have had a dual meet every season since the late ’80s. "This is one of the best dual meets of the season," said Mike Steineman ’92, who has been the head coach for the last 24 years.  "It was always competitive and there were some great swims every year. one of my CDH teammates swam out of their minds at that meet. We still schedule a meet every year because it is so much fun for both teams!"

The final dual meet of the season will be Thursday, February 6 at  6 pm at St. Kate's as we host the Raiders of Roseville. This will be our Senior Night and final home meet of the season. We will recognize the accomplishments of seniors Ben Wicker '20, Travis Teeter '20, Simon Baumberger '20, and Alex Heer '20. The senior recognition will occur at the end of the meet, approximately 7:30 pm.

After the dual meets have ended, the team will prepare for the post-season. The SEC JV Conference Meet will be held either at Stillwater Middle School or Oltmann Middle School (East Ridge's pool) based on our final SEC dual meet record. At the time of publication, we are 2-6 in the SEC for dual meets. Please stay tuned for the site and time information for this meet.

The following week, February 20-22, will be the Section 4AA Section Championships at Stillwater Middle School. The Raiders have moved from Section 6AA where they had been for the past few years to Section 4AA with Stillwater, Mounds View, Tartan, North St. Paul, Central, Harding, White Bear Lake, & Roseville. With the exception of Central and Harding, these teams competed on January 18 in the Section 4AA True Team Meet hosted by Stillwater. The Ponies of Stillwater finished in first place with 1197 points, Mounds View was second with 983, and CDH was third with 605.5 points. Hopefully, the experience of that meet will carry over to the section meet in a few weeks!

If the swimmers finish in first or second place or make the State qualifying time at Section Finals, then they will qualify for the MSHSL Class AA State Swimming & Diving Championships on February 27-29 at the U of MN Aquatic Center. Heer, Teeter, and Baumberger qualified in the 2019 AA State meet and hope to bring Adam Sewich '22, Luke Leonidas '22, and Issac Jeffrey '23 with them on some relays and individual events.
