Raider Standout Guard Tre Holloman
Boys’ Basketball Season Preview
Coach: Jerry Kline ‘93 (16th season)
Last season: 23-6, 13-3 (2nd in the SEC); lost in Section 4AAAA Championship
MSHSL Classification: Class AAAA (Section 4)
Conference: Suburban East
Outlook: Kline, a 1993 CDH graduate, is guiding the Raiders as they look to make a run for another state championship. CDH graduated all-conference player Jaeden King ’19 (now playing Division 1 Basketball at Western Illinois) but returns four starters including starting point guard Tre Holloman ’22, a nationally ranked guard who holds more than ten D1 offers and led the state in assists last season. Joining Holloman as one of the more experienced players on the roster is guard Curtis Jones ’20. “Tre’s an explosive guard with tremendous court vision,” Kline said. “Curtis is very smart and was a huge part of what we did last year. It’s natural that those two kids would be leaders, and they are.” Amari Carter ’20 and Will Burke ’20 also return as starters with significant experience. The Raiders have also added a significant newcomer in standout J’Vonne Hadley ’20. Hadley transferred in from Mahtomedi where the 6’7” forward averaged 27.9 PPG.
The last word: “They’re great kids and they’re making every effort to do what I ask them to do,” Kline said. “We will be tested all year with a very competitive schedule.” “We hope to be at peak performance come March. You always hope that you’re going to make the state tournament. We’re looking to not only make it but contend for a state championship.”
The Raiders face a very tough non-conference schedule with games against Eden Prairie, Minnehaha Academy, Wayzata, Spring Lake Park, and DeLaSalle. In the section, CDH will have to battle East Ridge, North St. Paul, Woodbury, and Tartan to get a chance to return to the state tournament.
